The Campeonato Nacional Liga Women, also known as Liga BPI due to sponsorship reasons, is the top-tier professional women’s football league in Portugal.  The league was established in 1991 and is organized by the Portuguese Football Federation. It consists of 12 teams that compete in a regular season from September to May, followed by playoffs to determine the league champion.
