About Japan B2 League

The B2 League is the second-tier professional basketball league in Japan. It was established in 2016 and is operated by the Japan Professional Basketball League (JPBL). The league features 18 teams from across Japan and is divided into two conferences: the East Conference and the West Conference.

The B2 League is considered a developmental league for the top-tier B1 League, and teams that finish in the top two positions at the end of the season are promoted to the B1 League for the following season.

The B2 League season runs from September to April, with a break in December for the Emperor’s Cup national tournament. Each team plays a total of 44 regular-season games, with 22 games played at home and 22 games played away.

Some notable teams in the B2 League include the Toyotsu Fighting Eagles Nagoya, Shinshu Brave Warriors, and Kumamoto Volters.
