About Europe Israel National League

The Israel National League, also known as the Liga Leumit, is the second-tier professional football league in Israel, below the Israeli Premier League. The league was established in 1955 and is organized by the Israel Football Association. It consists of 16 teams that compete in a regular season from August to May, followed by playoffs to determine the league champion and promotion to the Israeli Premier League.

 

The Israel National League is known for its competitive play, and many talented Israeli and international players have emerged from the league. Notable teams in the league include Hapoel Ra’anana, Hapoel Katamon Jerusalem, and Maccabi Ahi Nazareth. The Israel National League provides an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and potentially move up to the top league in Israeli football.
